Job Description

I am delighted to be partnering with a dynamic regional accountancy firm seeking to recruit a Tax Senior as part of the Corporate Tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients and give tax planning advice. The role involves drafting Self-Assessment tax returns, reviewing the returns prepared by colleagues and providing proactive tax planning advice to clients. You will be keen to provide a hands on compliance role that exceeds client expectations and support your Partner / Manager team on advisory projects.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

Tax

  • Managing a portfolio of Corporate Tax Self-Assessment tax returns
  • Reviewing corporate tax returns and computations prepared by team members
  • Supporting the tax managers / partners
  • Assisting with tax advisory work
  • Managing workload and client expectations
  • Working within budgets set at the planning stage
  • Overseeing staff in preparation of tax returns and computations, providing training where required and assisting with their development
  • Ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages

 

Clients

  • Maintain an up to date understanding of tax clients’ businesses
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients
  • Take an active role in business development, and promoting the firm in the local area
  • Contacting / responding to clients and liaising with HMRC

 

Task Management

  • Consistently achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions
  • Communicate workload with manager or partner
  • Work with less experienced colleagues to develop their specialist areas.

 

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CTA) with significant experience within practice, of preparation of corporate tax returns and coaching / mentoring colleagues. You will demonstrate a proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadline and priorities and preparing and reviewing technically complex advice.
